will explore three axes :

1. Water as a sacred element.

What does water represent in your religious tradition?

How is it presented in the sacred texts?

How does it participate in the act of Creation?

What is the place it occupies in the rituals?

Water as an element of purification.

  1. Water as a social element.

Water as a place of encounter around the wells, the sources and the fountains in the so-called traditional societies and in the modern townscape.

Water and agriculture ; Water distribution.

Water as a source of commercial exchanges and as a way.

Cities beside the rivers.

  1. Water as an element to preserve : a gift and a threat.

Floods, drought, natural disasters / deluge

Potential sources of conflicts.
