About the Centre

Four major areas of activity

Dialogue

The Centre is a Canadian pioneer in interfaith dialogues. In the 1960s the Centre initiated a formal Christian-Jewish dialogue, which continues to serve as a model in establishing interfaith dialogues across the country. Today, the Centre values its role as a leading participant in interfaith and Christian dialogues at national and regional levels.

Education

The Centre provides ecumenical and interfaith information to schools, governments, corporations and other organizations, through conferences, consultations and workshops. Interfaith families find the Centre a valuable resource as neutral ground, and in its ability to link them with other families sharing similar experiences.

Worldwide Publication

Our international quarterly journal, Ecumenism, which is published concurrently in English and French editions, explores central interchurch and interfaith topics. Read by both academics and the general public, Ecumenism is received in 40 countries and in over 300 libraries and religious institutions.

Specialized Library

Our elaborate library and research centre, unique in Canada, is open to the public. Visitors will find books, over 150 periodicals from around the world, and multimedia collections on ecumenical and interfaith topics.
